What it is

Cash on delivered loads, without the wait

Invoice factoring means selling your unpaid freight invoices to a factoring company. They advance you part of the invoice up front, and when your broker or shipper pays, you receive the remainder minus the factoring company’s fee.

It’s one way carriers keep cash moving for fuel, insurance, repairs and payroll while customers pay on their own schedule.

Who it fits

  • Owner-operators
  • Small fleets
  • Carriers waiting 30–60 days on broker or shipper payments
  • Anyone who wants steadier cash flow between loads
How it works

Factoring in three steps

  1. Submit an invoice

You deliver the load and send the invoice to the factoring company.

  2. Get an advance

The factoring company advances you a portion of the invoice amount.

  3. Get the remainder

When your customer pays, you receive the rest – minus the factoring company’s fee.

Rates depend on your loads and brokers; we match you with a factoring company – no obligation. Monumental Capital is a referral partner. We introduce carriers to independent third-party factoring companies; we are not a lender, and we do not fund or purchase invoices ourselves.

FAQ

Factoring questions

What is invoice factoring?

Factoring is when a business sells its unpaid invoices to a factoring company in exchange for cash sooner. For a trucker, that means getting money for a delivered load without waiting for the broker or shipper to pay.

Is factoring a loan?

Factoring is generally structured as the sale of an invoice rather than a loan, but the details depend on the agreement you sign with the factoring company. Read it carefully and ask questions before you sign.

How much does it cost?

Rates depend on your loads and brokers, and they are set by the factoring company – not by Monumental Capital. We match you with a factoring company that fits your situation; there is no obligation to accept.

Is Monumental Capital the factoring company?

No. Monumental Capital refers carriers to independent third-party factoring companies. We are a referral partner, not a lender, and your agreement is with the factoring company.

Do I need the fuel card to apply?

No. The fuel card and factoring are separate. You can ask about either or both.

What should I ask a factoring company?
  • What are all the fees, and when are they charged?
  • Is the agreement recourse or non-recourse, and what does that mean for unpaid invoices?
  • Are there contract length, minimums or termination terms?
  • How and when do I receive funds, and are any amounts held in reserve?
I already factor. Can I still ask?

Yes. Tell us who you use today and what you’d like to be different, and we’ll see whether there is a better fit. You are never obligated to switch.
